Director of sports medicine Nik Wald enters his 11th season with the Timbers organization in 2017, serving as the club’s head athletic trainer since 2007. A native of Eugene, Ore., Wald graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in exercise and movement science in 2003. Wald lives in Portland with his wife, Stacie, and two sons.
Alex Margarito enters his fifth season as the Timbers assistant athletic trainer. A California native, Margarito attended San Jose State University for undergrad and graduate studies, earning his athletic training certificate. Before joining the TImbers, he worked with the Stanford University football and the women’s water polo teams and was an athletic training intern with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2013.
