This is my first year with the NYRB as Head Athletic Trainer.
For the previous thirty (30) years I was an athletic trainer and Coordinator of Physical Therapy at Princeton University. Worked with various teams including: men's soccer, men's and women's track and field, men's and women's tennis, and men's hockey.
Undergrad degree in PT with specialization in AT from the University of Pittsburgh (1983); graduate degree in Athletic Trainer from the University of Virginia (1997).
Kei is entering his 4th season with New York Red Bulls as an assistant athletic trainer for the 1st team. Prior to joining the Red Bulls, he has worked with University of South Florida Men’s Soccer and University of Maryland Track & Field/Cross Country as their primary athletic trainer.
A native of Japan, Kei received his Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and Exercise & Sports Science from the University of Georgia in 2012 and his Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from the University of South Florida in 2015.
Professionally, Kei has trained and certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Functional Range Release, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, Postural Restoration Institute, Functional Range Conditioning, Dry Needling: Foundations in Orthopedic Rehab & Sport Performance (Structure & Function), and DermoNeuroModulation. Additionally, he completed National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians – Basic course in 2011
Tom Carroll MS, ATC
Tom joins the Red Bulls for his first full MLS season since being promoted from Red Bulls II mid-season in 2017. Tom served as Athletic Trainer for Red Bulls II for one and a half seasons in which the team won the 2016 USL Championship and USL Supporters’ Shield.
Prior to joining Red Bull’s II, Tom served as an intern athletic trainer at Monmouth University overseeing the men and women’s track and cross country teams as well as assisting with Football. Tom is a 2015 graduate of Seton Hall University’s MSAT Graduate Program during which he spent a rotation with the NYRB Academy. Tom attended Assumption College from 2009-2013 during which he was a 4 year starter for their Men’s Soccer Program.
