Mario is the sports medicine director for Atlanta United F.C.  His responsibilities include overseeing and directing all aspects of the medical care, including injury prevention,  evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation, and well-being of all the players in the first team, as well as overseeing proper and similar care for the Atlanta United 2 team and the rest of the teams in the Atlanta United academy system.  

Previously, Mario worked in the same capacity as the head athletic trainer for Chicago Fire of the MLS. Before his time with Chicago Fire, he was the rehabilitation coordinator at Tennessee Tech University from 2013 to the end of 2015. Throughout his career, Mario has provided both physical rehabilitation and athletic training services for a wide range of patients including high school, college, semi-professional and professional athletes.

Mario graduated with honors from Georgia Southern University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Athletic Training. Following his graduation from GSU, he attended the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009. In 2013, he became a Board Certified Sports Specialist through the ABPTS.

Jordan Serrano-Dennis, ATC, MS, PES

Jordan is in his second season with Atlanta United FC as the assistant athletic trainer. His responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of medical care, including injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, and the overall well-being of the first team players.

Jordan graduated from Florida State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Following his graduation from FSU, he attended Louisiana State University, where he earned a Master of Science in Sports Pedagogy in 2016. From there, he spent a year in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons before making his move to the MLS in 2017.
