Each club employs multiple Certified Athletic Trainers as full-time employees of the club. Additionally, many have internship positions available ranging from post graduate level to student intern opportunities.

Position: Seasonal Athletic Trainer

Description of Position:

The position is based in Marietta, GA at the Children’s Health of Atlanta Training Center. The role includes assisting with the medical care for all the Atlanta United FC and Atlanta United 2 players. The athletic trainer’s main function will be assisting with the daily athletic training duties and responsibilities while under the direction of the staff athletic trainers. They will also assist with the medical coverage of the second team training sessions and games as needed/available. They will have opportunities to travel with the second team as well. They may also have academy coverage duties as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training
  • Current BOC Certification
  • Georgia State License
  • CPR/BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field 
  • Soccer experience and knowledge

Position Summary and Duties

  • Obtain assignments for the day
  • Assist with player preparation prior to training or match ▪
  • Assist with daily treatments and rehabs of players before training
  • Assist with any taping, bracing or wound management
  • Assist with gym and correction/prevention routines
  • Assist athletic training staff with practice coverage (hydration, emergency care)
  • Assist with post training treatments
  • Maintain cleanliness of athletic training room and equipment
  • Meet with medical staff and performance staff following the day regarding information from that day Position Standards
  • Wear team issued gear when at the training grounds or stadium
  • Maintain professionalism when interacting with players and staff
  • Limit cell phone use in athletic training room and on field
  • Maintain current continuing education requirements and necessary licensures
