Position: Athletic Trainer

Position Type: Full-time

Looking for an experienced, ambitious, and high-achieving Certified Athletic Trainer who has a passion for developing Charlotte FC's next generation of footballers.
Education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) program. 
  • Master’s preferred. 
  •  Experience as a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer is preferred and must be able to work independently. 
Licenses or Certifications:

  • Current athletic training certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).

  • Currently licensed or eligible for a State of North Carolina License in Athletic Training within 30 days of hire. 

  • Ability to complete American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS), which includes CPR and AED training within 30 days of hire.

Position: Head Athletic Trainer

Position Type: Full-Time

Minimum Qualifications Include: 
  • Must be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) and be in good standing.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as an athletic trainer after receiving BOC certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years working in the professional sports industry, preferably soccer.  
  • Experience overseeing care and return to play protocol.
  • Multilingual preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Personal liability insurance.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background check including a motor vehicle report. 
  • Ability to pass SafeSport Training.
  • Possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license and maintain legally required insurance.

Position: MLS Next Academy Athletic Therapist

Position Type: Full-time

Specific Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages the healthcare of Players including, but not limited to:
    • first aid/emergency care 
    • onsite injury evaluation
    • application of appropriate modalities
    • development of rehabilitation and prevention programs
  • Maintain a complete and up-to date electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Order, maintain, and inventory supplies and clinical equipment
  • Keep the athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean, and organized
  • Help the Club Medical Staff regarding Player’s health and safety
  • Comply with all MLS medical policies and protocols
  • Comply with OSHA standards regarding blood borne pathogens
  • Attend all activities/meetings/programs as required by the League
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications/Experience:

In addition to bringing a commitment to Vancouver Whitecaps FC vision and values, the successful candidate will have degrees of demonstrated skills and experience as follows:

  • Minimum of two (2) years certified athletic therapist/trainer experience
  • In good standing with CATA/NATABOC
  • Experience within Soccer is preferred
  • Minimum four (4) year bachelor’s degree. Preferred Masters
  • CATA (or NATABOC) Certified Athletic Therapist/Trainer
  • Up to date BLS and First Responder Certification
  • Preferred certifications include: CSCS, PES, RMT, and/or NREMT
  • Must be proficient with the MS Office software suite
  • Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must successfully complete MLS Safe Sport training
  • Must possess a passport and be able to freely travel internationally

Position: Athletic Training Intern

Position Type: Part-Time ($16.50/hr 20-25hrs/wk)

Qualifications:

  • Experience conveying information to players and colleagues.
  • Ability to brainstorm action plans.
  • General background of soccer.
  • Ability to get to travel to the Etihad City Football Academy New York and be able to commit to the full program (4 days per week, approx. 20-25hrs/week) 
  • Offer flexibility with ever changing schedule
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record keeping
  • Foundational knowledge of creating a return to play with emphasis on periodic progression
  • Base knowledge of modalities (Compex, BFR, strength assessment devices)
  • Able to incorporate gym-based S&C within rehabilitation programs
  • Spanish speaking preferred, but not mandatory

Position: Athletic Trainer

Preferred Qualities: 

  • The personality! Proactive, innovative, autonomous, solution-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of a DESS in Athletic Therapy;
  • Experience working with a sports clientele, ideally in high-level sports, experience in field coverage or in a private clinic is an asset;
  • CATA athletic therapy certification;
  • Member in good standing of the CATA and the Corporation des thérapeutes du sport du Québec (CTSQ); 
  • Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first responder in sports;
  • Enhanced knowledge of rehabilitation programs;
  • Experience in athlete injury prevention and assessment;
  • Valid passport;
  • Ability to multi-task independently and work under pressure with tight deadlines;
  • Great attention to detail, rigor and precision;
  • The position requires regular travel to cover all Academy team games at home and abroad, according to schedule.
